About the Class Experience . . .
The idea of stress reduction is a bit misleading as stress is our brain predicting we're about to need a bunch of resources. So we'd best have a bunch of resources at our disposal! What we will really be working on is the cultivation of inner resources - an inner toolkit - of things to do and a way of being that helps us skillfully meet what we call stress and emotions. Please know that this class meets on Wednesdays, for 8 weeks, and that there is a daylong (probably 10am-5:30pm, ET) silent retreat on Saturday, June 4. Attendance is crucial, as everyone in the class relies on the support of one another during this profound, inner journey. Signing up for MBSR is saying that you are prioritizing this deep personal and transforming work. An Orientation and 1:1 conversation prior to acceptance into the course are mandatory. This class meets on WEDNESDAYS, from 6pm-8:30pm, EASTERN on the following dates: Week 1 - April 20 Week 2 - April 27 Week 3 - May 4 Week 4 - May 11 Week 5 - May 18 Week 6 - May 25 Week 7 - June 1 RETREAT on June 4, from 10am to 4:30pm, ET Week 8 - June 8 Classes are 2-2.5 hrs, depending on the number of participants.
