It's been an honor to be in the presence of people who feel the desire or the need to take 30 minutes out of their precious 1,440 for each of the past 4 Thursdays to observe what's arising for them and to send thoughts of care and compassion to themselves, one another, and the people of Maui.
There's an epidemic of busyness, an epidemic of striving for peak performance and maximum productivity, and of course, an epidemic of social-media engineered human disconnection. It has been beautiful to be with people who are acutely aware of the current fragile state of humankind.
There's one more Drop-in, tomorrow (THURSDAY).
What to Expect at the Drop-in
Dozens of people are registered, and dozens don't show up. They have intentions.
I invite you to register, and if you cannot attend for whatever reason, the moment you see the reminder in your Inbox, pause for a moment.
During that pause, hold in your heart and mind, not just the people of Maui, but everyone, everywhere. We all need it! Say to yourself, or softly aloud . . .
May you be happy.
May you be healthy and safe.
May you be at ease and free from harm.
And then, take a moment for yourself, perhaps with a hand on your heart . . .
May I be happy.
May I be healthy and safe.
May I be at ease and free from harm.
For the first few minutes of the Drop-in, I welcome anyone to share what's meaningful for them at that moment. What they're thinking about, how they're feeling, what sensations are in their bodies. We check in on feeling tones, and I'll talk about what they are (precursors of emotions).
We do a practice that frequently is related to whatever someone shared at the start.
We then capture our experiences together, and reflect on them.
That's it.
All are welcome.
We all have 1,440 minutes tomorrow. Think about that and how you spend them. Honor them. Honor yourself. Care for yourself.
May ease find you.
